東京インターナショナルシンガーズ小史
東京インターナショナルシンガーズ（TIS）は、1980年、マルセル･レスペランスとキャロル･メルビーによって、ハイレベルな合唱公演を目的として創設されました。過去30年間に110回を超えるコンサートを行ない、様々な国籍のメンバーが共に歌う喜びを分かち合うことによって交流を深めています。ハイドンの｢四季｣、ロッシーニの「スタバトマーテル」、ヴェルディの「レクイエム」などの大曲から、ピアノや小アンサンブル伴奏による演奏会も行なっています。残念なことに、2009年4月マネジャーのキャロル・メルビーが癌のため逝去しました。さらに、指揮者マルセル・レスペランスが、2010年2月のTIS創立30周年記念演奏会の後、健康を害して指揮者を引退しました。その後団員数が減少しましたが、団員は長年続いてきたTISの伝統を守るべく、新しい指揮者、土師雅人氏の指導の下、精進を続けています。新指揮者による演奏会は、2011年よりフォーレ「レクイエム」、モーツァルト「レクイエム」、ブラームス「新愛の歌、愛の歌」、ヴェルディ「レクイエム」、プーラン「グロリア」、ブラームス「ドイツレクイエム」など、公演数も６回を数えています。

Tokyo International Singers      A Short History
This choral group was founded in 1980 by Marcel L'Esperance and Carol Melby with the purpose of performing choral music at a high level.  The chorus has given more than 110 concerts over the past 30 years.  Foreign and Japanese members have had the opportunity to sing together and form friendships through their mutual love of music.  The chorus has performed large choral works such as Haydn's Die Jahreszeiten, Rossini's Stabat Mater and Verdi's Requiem.  Other compositions have been performed with piano only or a small instrumental ensemble.  The repertoire has been quite varied ranging from Russian music to Gospel as well as classical music.
Unfortunately, however, Carol Melby, one of the founders, died of cancer in April 2009.  In addition, Marcel L'Esperance has retired from the conductor due to deteriorated health after our 30th Anniversary Concert in February 2010 (Verdi's Requiem).  Although the number of the members has decreased since then, we have been continuing our choral activities under the baton of the new conductor, Mr. Masato Haji.  We have already held three concerts under the new trainer: February in 2011 (Faure: Requiem, etc.), October in 2011 (Mozart: Requiem), March in 2012 (Brahms: Neue Liebeslieder, etc.),December in 2013(Verdi:Requiem),December in 2014(Poulenc:Gloria,　
Faure:Requiem,etc) and December in 2015(Brahms:Ein deutsches Requiem.).
